My specialty is speculative fiction. I love all things fantasy, sci-fi, and horror.

In more than two decades with newspapers, I learned to gather information quickly, report it accurately, and write it with style.

Editing doctoral dissertations for educators, nurses, doctor of ministry candidates and other graduate-level students.  We also do indexing and edit books (mostly fiction), manuscripts and special projects.  We design book covers as well as format and paginate books (interior pages).  Stacks Editing is a family business.  We’ve been editing dissertations, theses and manuscripts since 1992.

Allison Harbin, PhD is a freelance writer and developmental editor who specializes in academic editing for peer-review, publication, proposals, grant, and fellowship applications. She also helps develop content strategy and copy for websites, blogs, and newsletters. She earned her PhD in Art History from Rutgers University in 2017 and her Bachelor’s from University of Virginia.

Colin Mustful is the founder and editor of History Through Fiction. Mustful is an accomplished fiction and nonfiction writer who has published numerous novels, nonfiction essays and articles, and various other written resources and blog posts. Since launching History Through Fiction in 2019, Mustful has ushered three historical novels through the publication process and has received and evaluated hundreds of manuscript submissions. He has a Master of Fine Arts degree in creative writing with a concentration in publishing (Augsburg University, 2019) and a Master of Arts degree in history (Minnesota State University, Mankato, 2007). He is a member of the ACES Society for Editing and has a Poynter ACES Certificate in Editing. He specializes in historical fiction but is available to work with all genres and forms of storytelling.

I’m a seasoned nonfiction editor who specializes in developing, editing, and adapting content according to the needs of project, audience, style, and brand. I offer developmental editing, line/substantive editing, copyediting, and proofreading, but my superpower is crafting a piece of writing to make it the best version of itself, to draw out exactly what’s intended for just the audience who needs it. I’m passionate about telling good stories and helping readers find guidance and meaning in their lives.

Before I became a freelance editor in 2010, I was associate editor at Counterpoint/Soft Skull Press, where I acquired and edited a range of titles, from short stories to novels to memoirs to works of investigative journalism. As a freelancer, I collaborate with authors, literary agents, and independent publishers on a range of projects, including literary fiction, narrative nonfiction, and memoir, as both a developmental editor and a copyeditor.

Jensen Publications Inc. is a full-service communications company with expertise in all forms of written communications. President Chris Jensen has 35+ years of publication experience, primarily in the role as project manager/editor and writer. In 2009 he co-founded The Hardware Connection, a digital magazine serving the retail hardware industry, and he continues to serve as the sole writer, editor and proofreader. He has won 16 awards for editorial excellence in the past 9 years including a 2020 FOLIO Eddie Award for Editor of the Year (honorable mention). His first book, Baseball State by State, was published by McFarland in July 2012, and he has also authored four books on hardware history. In addition, he serves as a contributing writer to www.seamheads.com, a leading online baseball blog. Highly skilled copy editor who is adept at turning good writing into great and catching any and all mistakes at the proofreading stage.

French-to-English translator, specializing in finance and stock market-related subjects. I spent many years in several Equity Research departments, translating and editing notes and reports written by non-native English speakers and readying them for publication. I also handled editing and translation requests from other departments, including Economics and Quantitative Research.
