I am a freelance editor, copyeditor, and publishing consultant with over ten years of publishing industry experience. My work as an editor in trade and academic publishing has shaped my approach to working with authors. Above all, I consider myself a collaborator and an advocate who can offer honest, constructive, and respectful feedback no matter where an author is in the writing process.

During my career, I’ve edited academic articles and proposals, fiction manuscripts, textbooks, trade books, marketing materials, blogs, and website content.

Skilled editor with extensive experience writing and editing Mathematics and English Language Arts instructional materials as well as experience editing children’s books and fiction books. Proficient at adhering to guidelines and style guides, ensuring standards alignment. Demonstrates strong organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking skills to complete multiple assignments and meet deadlines. Recognized as a team player who works cooperatively with a variety of people.

Positioning myself in the last several years as the small business owner of PMD, LLC, has enabled me to draw from, and put to use, a broad range of skill sets acquired through my formal education in Liberal Arts and my dynamic employment in the multiple facets of education and fitness, the outdoor industry, and copy and developmental editing. My first novel, Faltofar, a young adult fantasy novel, was published in May 2020 and has received excellent reviews on both Amazon and Goodreads.

I am a freelance copyeditor and proofreader, and I am currently looking for work with publishing houses.

Yui Suzuki is a freelance developmental editor for academic authors. Her subject areas include art history and related fields in the arts and humanities, particularly in Japanese studies, East Asian studies, Buddhist studies, Contemplative Pedagogy, and Mindfulness in Higher Education.

Courtney Tenz is an award-winning writer and culture editor with over 20 years of experience. She began her career at a publisher in Boston, where she proofread and copyedited canonical literature and university textbooks in history, English, and media studies. After obtaining an MFA in fiction writing, she was awarded a Fulbright grant and moved to Germany, where she still lives part-time.
