I’ve earned my living as a writer/editor/columnist for 40 years. I started out as a general assignment reporter working for a now defunct New York daily. I went on to work for McGraw Hill’s Personal Finance newsletter, spun off from Business Week, covering Wall Street and investing. I worked for daily newspapers, and was a stringer for the Daily News, Newsday and the Star Ledger, covering personal finance, business news and entrepreneurship. I have covered many beats including investing, health/wellness, DIY, home improvement, consumer electronics, careers/workplace, self-improvement, travel, music, and crime. I’ve edited newspapers, magazines, newsletters and websites. And I created original content for all of them. I created a weekly syndicated column, Tech Watch, which was picked up and distributed by the Hearst Corporation (King Features). It was published in large daily newspapers throughout the United States such as the Chicago-Sun Times, Houston Chronicle, Tampa Tribune, the Atlantic Journal Constitution, and the Los Angeles Times, to name a few. I created the feature, Making a Difference, which appeared every Sunday in the Los Angeles Times. The feature profiled America’s unsung heroes, ordinary people who are doing extraordinary things and making the world a better place. I’ve written 14 books published by major publishers such as Simon & Schuster, McGraw-Hill, HarperCollins, Henry Holt, Prentice Hall and Macmillan. A few books that did well and received excellent reviews were “Resumes Don’t Get Jobs,” “How to Get a Job in Hard Times,” “I Hate My Boss,” “Money Hang-Ups” and “Death Row Confidential.” I’ve edited, written and ghosted several non-fiction and fiction books on many subjects such as self-improvement, entrepreneurship, investing and careers. I’ve also ghosted many columns for executives. And I’ve profiled hundreds of people from all walks of life, well known celebrities, singers, musicians, and writers, and CEOs of global household name companies.
