I’ve been working part time as a freelance copyeditor since 2022, and I’m proud to be a member of the EFA. In 1995 I earned a master’s degree in anthropology & archaeology and for ten years worked in the fields of academic and contract archaeology. Later life interests led me to jobs in bookselling, writing and proofreading for local nonprofits, and assistant teaching in an inner-city elementary school. In December 2021 I completed the sequence in professional editing through the UC Berkeley Extension program, and in 2022 I copyedited my first two book manuscripts for Torrey House Press. My reading interests cover too many topics to name, but as a copyeditor I am drawn to stories about culture and cultural preservation, archaeology, environmentalism, nature, travel, and adventure. I’m a Chicago native, but I’ve lived in Houston with my family for the past 15 years.
