Anja Schmidt is the founder and president of Noodles Ink Editorial Services. She is a senior-level executive with technical and creative expertise who excels at idea development, promoting concepts, preserving style while sharpening an author’s intent, identifying trends, cost management, team-building, and sparking synergies across expansive brands and multiple divisions that set forth progress, recommendations and strategic plans.

My specialty is academic copyediting and developmental editing, especially in the areas of engineering, science, history, cultural studies, and psychology. I am a writer, translator, critic, and editor. My full-length translations include Claudia Ulloa Donoso’s story collections Little Bird and Ice for Martians. My first novel, Short War, is forthcoming from A Strange Object in 2024. I have written book reviews and essays for The Atlantic, The Nation, The New Yorker, The New York Times, and many more outlets, and, as an editor, I can offer a critic’s sharp eye mixed with a fiction writer’s creativity.
