I’m Kris. My collaborative, adaptive editing style balances rules with nuance, cultivating the author’s voice, and I can coach as necessary. If the writer is a nerd about their work, I consider it my job to mirror that while we refine their writing. I love hearing about what makes them excited!

As an author, I’m adept at using my imaginative thinking and creative flair to bring my books to life in engaging and entertaining ways. After writing and editing press releases, ad copy, business emails and industry content for friends and family for many years in addition to the editing I did through my critique groups, I decided to officially enter the business world as a creative freelance writer and editor.

As a freelance editor, I am excited to collaborate with authors and writers on what they are passionate about! I have experience working with both independent and represented fiction and nonfiction authors, as well as professional technical-content writers. I have also edited copy for a small traditional publishing house and a large trade publisher. Editor-author collaboration is all about working together to refine the material until we form it into its best possible version.

I’m a copy editor and proofreader with experience in academic writing, dissertations, and proposals in sociology, anthropology, sexual and reproductive health and rights, as well as arts-related content. I also have extensive experience editing, writing, and producing book-summary content in both written and audio formats. I specialize in editing both scholarly and mass-market materials requiring clear argumentation, as well as polishing the work of multilingual authors writing in English.

Almost 14 years of experience of copyediting of STM manuscript. I have worked for both UK and US publishers on journals and books. I can edit Word files with track changes ON as well as annotate PDFs (i.e., edit proofs). I have adequate knowledge of the various stage of manuscript production, starting from developmental editing to typesetting. Currently associated with copyediting of medical manuscript, especially for language and basic styles for countries like China, Saudia Arabia, and Turkey.

Hello! I’m Alice. My goal as an editor is to help you express your ideas as clearly and concisely as possible. I have a BA in English (comparative literature) from Santa Clara University, and an MBA from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. My first love is genre fiction (mystery, romance,   speculative–no horror, please), but academic editing and other non-fiction works appeal, too.
