My editor pen has marked up novels, novellas, short stories, poetry, fanfiction, nonfiction/academic manuscripts, handbooks, and college application essays, as a freelancer, as an editor for Radish Media, and as part a Production Assistant of SAGE Publications.

After many years of working in health care, I decided to switch careers for more work-life balance. Envision Editing was conceived from a love of reading and reviewing. I have a Professional Sequence in Editing certificate from the University of California, Berkeley, and offer developmental and copy editing.

Mary Child is an editor with more than 25 years of experience in editing books, journal articles, essays, speeches, publishing proposals and more. Her professional experience includes nine years combined as in-house acquisitions editor at Oxford University Press (HK) and Cambridge University Press (North America). She has edited books in the social sciences and humanities, with particular experience in Asian Studies, China studies, political science, government, sociology, international economics, and history, as well as books in business, and the arts. As a freelance editor, she has coached authors through every phase of book and article development, from conception, to proposal, to polished, publishing-ready manuscript and promotions materials. She specializes in assessing draft manuscripts and advising authors on necessary revisions. As editor of a journal for a non-profit support group, she has planned issues, from theme to layout, written articles, solicited and edited articles, including rewriting, line-editing, and proofreading.

Yusra Farooqui is a copy editor and proofreader for fiction books. She has two certificates in editing. Yusra is also a self published author.

I am a graduate student at the University of Denver, University College, seeking a Master of Arts in Professional Creative Nonfiction Writing. Concurrently, I am working on a Copyediting certificate from the University of California San Diego Extended Studies.

Laura Briggs is a ten-year legal SEO writing veteran. She’s a contributor for Entrepreneur.com, a three-time TEDx speaker, and the author of five books, including Six Figure Freelancer. Her podcasts, books, and articles have reached over 18,000 freelancers worldwide. Her freelance work is focused on the legal industry, with SEO content and content strategy developed for some of America’s most successful personal injury firms. Laura has a bachelor’s degree in economics, a master’s degree in political science, and will complete her doctorate in business administration in 2024.

I am new to proofreading and I am excited to get started in this next chapter in my life. I have taken two proofreading courses and am looking to further my skills by taking another one. I am constantly honing my proofreading skills by listening to blogs, reading articles, and books that have to do with proofreading and grammar. My background has been in administrative work, which has helped with my organizational skills and upkeep of computer skills. I have a BA in photojournalism from the University of Alaska Fairbanks and took a copious amount of English classes. I enjoy taking pictures of my kids and the magnificent beauty of my state, Alaska.
