Hello! My name is Samantha Mendell, and I am a passionate developmental editor, copywriter, and fantasy enthusiast. I am a native Floridian, who has also called northwestern Montana and Nashville, Tennessee home. I received my Bachelor of Arts from Palm Beach Atlantic University and my Master of Divinity from Liberty University. Over the last decade of my career, I have worked in faith-based residential centers for women, teaching, discipling, and leading worship. In addition, I have worked for churches in the communications and discipleship departments. No matter where my career has taken me, my love for storytelling, fantasy, and creativity has been my great passion. It is my joy to now pursue these passions as my vocation.

Troy Wilderson is a Midwestern writer, copy editor, senior prose feedback editor for Typehouse Literary Magazine, manuscript reader for Coffee House Press, and educator. She works with authors in genres ranging from literary fiction to magical realism to lyrical memoirs and paranormal romance. She has edited manuscript lengths from short stories to novellas to novels and memoirs. Known for being adept at using the Chicago Manual of Style, she also has experience creating style guides for individual manuscripts.

I come out of having a retail photo business and, after a stint in the pre-press arena, landed in the editing world. Currently, I’m editor-in-chief for a world-renown lifestyle author and oversee a small team of writers and editors. Her website is the most well-read in her lifestyle niche, attracting some 11 million page views. Each month she writes approximately 40,000 words and has self-published over one dozen books. Her website has over 100,000 words of evergreen material, all of which has been edited by me.

I am an editor, writer and teacher with a broad range of experience: I cut my teeth editing best-selling and award-winning authors at major New York City publishing houses, including Alfred A. Knopf, Doubleday and Ecco Books. I have an M.F.A in Fiction from Johns Hopkins University, where I also taught fiction and poetry to undergraduates.
